Who are we? What do we do?
We are JAG Guitars! As our motto says, we revive, restring, and replay! We take used guitars, clean them, fix them, and make them better! We started in 2019, when Anthony decided to give some guitars a second chance at playing and sounding great!
How do we do it?
It starts with the guitar. Finding a good deal or something worthwhile to fix up can take anywhere from a day, to months. Once a guitar is selected, we make the purchase and get it into the shop (currently a small bench.) The first thing we do, cut the strings, next, take it completely apart! That’s right, from the headstock to the strap peg, everything comes off that can come off. Then we do a thorough clean, every part gets cleaned and polished. Then we focus on the neck, leveling and polishing the frets, shampooing the fretboard. Next, everything goes back together and we set it up. That means, setting the action, adjusting the truss rod, setting the intonation, and more! finally, we come to the second stage in our motto, restring, where we put new D’addario strings on and set up the action so playability is the best it can be! Then the final stage, replay!
